Here is an example of how easy it can be to add a media/video element to a news story. There is no editing, no titles, nothing fancy. There isn't even a second clip... But the big question is does it add anything to the piece?
I would argue it adds a lot. With video (going off of what Yuri was talking about) we add faces, emotions, and can identify with the people being talked about. In this case, I got to know a little bit about, and felt somewhat of a connection to the people of Chicago and learned a bit about Rahm's character. With this video, I would say the article is twice as informative to me and twice as interesting. Keep in mind that alone, the video is quite boring and has nearly no information in it... but it adds a second degree of context to the article.
Also, the video gives the news piece a bit more validity, since I have a primary source which I can trust more (at least at a subconscious level) than what a writer can try to skew in a news piece.
